Fantini is currently President of Conscoop, an Italian consortium of cooperatives operating in the construction and infrastructure sector. In addition, Monica Fantini is serving as Vice President of Legacoop Produzione e Servizi, and she sits on Legacoop’s governing bodies at both the territorial and national levels.
Monica Fantini brings extensive experience in cooperative development and international project management. She spent a decade in North Africa leading initiatives for environmental protection and public health. In Italy, she has held senior roles within Legacoop and served as General Director of the Legacoop Romagna regional office.
Monica Fantini has also been Vice President of major banking foundations promoting socio-cultural and health research initiatives. Her professional and personal commitment to social and economic progress, both in Italy and abroad, earned her the honor of Knight of the Italian Republic.
“It is a great honor and responsibility for me to be appointed as President of CECOP. We must work together to put forward concrete proposals that align responsible innovation, competitiveness and social development, contributing to Europe’s strategic autonomy. The complex era we are living in requires an extraordinary commitment from our network. Across Europe, there is an unprecedented need for cooperatives, given the socio-economic values they represent, and the next MFF shall take it into consideration” expressed Fantini after her election.
Monica Fantini succeeds Giuseppe Guerini, who has been President of CECOP since 2016. Following her election, Monica Fantini will also become Vice-President of CICOPA. She also becomes the first woman elected President of CECOP.
