Visits
Meeting point at the venue (Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel), exceptional guides will lead us to the headquarters of our member Cooperative UK, where we will have a presentation about worker cooperatives in UK. Then we will take a bus and visit the worker cooperative Suma (we talk about Suma in the #CECOP40: Read here)

Celebration time!
We are organising a dinner for members at 8th Day Café a nice worker cooperative not far from the venue of the event. Being a special occasion, we are also preparing some surprises for you, we hope to see many of you there!
As in use in CECOP, dinner is at participants own expenses. We make sure to keep a reasonable price, but do not forget to bring some cash with you (British pounds!). Organising is not easy if we do not know how many you are, please confirm your presence in the registration from!

40 th anniversary session
We will travel together, guided by respectable hosts, through the main moments of the last 40 years of CECOP history, and plunge into present and future challenges. We hope to see many of you there! This session is public, do not hesitate to spread the word among fellas cooperators and register. The list of speakers will be shared soon.

General Assembly
This CECOP yearly meeting is not much of a surprise, but an important moment for decision making and statutory business. Members are warmly invited to participate. The General Assembly is usually a private event open only to members, participants other than the representatives of the member organisations can join as observers (upon confirmation). The agenda and the working documents will be send in due time.

SATURDAY 22 JUNE | 09:30 - 12:30

Session on democratic innovation in industrial and service cooperatives
How worker and social cooperatives are creating new modes of ownership and control? This session is co-organised by CECOP and the UK Worker Cooperatives Council. This session is public, do not hesitate to spread the word among fellas cooperators and register.

Kindly indicate the events in which you would like to participate. The visits, the dinner and the statutory session are mainly for members and have limited availability. If you are not a member, but you are still interested in participating, we reserve the right to confirm your participation.

 

USEFUL INFORMATION

INTERPRETATION:

The meetings are held in English. An interpretation will be provided for French, Italian and Spanish for the meetings on Friday and on Saturday. Please notice that interpretation will not be provided for the visits.
For the General Assembly, interpretation expenses will be shared as usual among present members’ organisations benefiting of the service, Italian, French and Spanish. If you have any question, please write to francesca.zaganelli@cecop.coop before the 7 of June.

This event is organised in the context of Cooperatives UK Congress which will take place in the same venue. More information here.
On Friday 21 June, Cooperatives UK organises an awards dinner. To participate, you can book at a discounted participation price (£50 + VAT) HERE and select the option “Friday (Awards Dinner Only)”.

Did you know ?


Near to Manchester there is a town called Rochdale where the first very cooperative was created in 1844.
Today the same building is hosting the Rochdale Pioneers Museum. If we are a considerable number of people we can organise an informal visit to the museum on Saturday afternoon. Interested to join?
