CECOP is the European confederation of industrial and service cooperatives. Our aim is to bring democracy and solidarity to the workplace, sustainable economic growth, and social cohesion.
Our members are national federations of cooperatives and organisations that promote cooperatives. We represent 25 members in 15 European countries. We give voice to 40.000 enterprises and 1.3 million workers.
To celebrate this special anniversary, we decided to launch the campaign #CECOP40 and asked our members to identify those cooperatives that best represent the history and the evolution of CECOP.
François Espagne was member of the board and treasurer of CECOP from 1989 to 1996, representing the French member organization CGScop, where he was Secretary General from 1981 to 1990.
On his updated mission statement Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights Nicolas Schmit was asked by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to develop an Action Plan for the Social Economy
The new college will officially take office on the 1st of December after a few weeks delay.
