Together with its partners ETUC, Social Economy Europe, the European Movement International, and the Social Platform, CECOP was part of a pane debate on the European Pillar of Social Rights on 28th of April 2021. Ahead of the Porto Social Summit, the Alliance called for the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights with an Action Plan based on solidarity and inclusion.
The event was opened with a speech of Vice-President of the European Commission Dubravka Šuica. During the following panel debate, CECOP-President Giuseppe Guerini highlighted the important role of worker and social cooperatives in providing intergenerational equality and social inclusion. The other panelists were Brando Benifei (MEP, Vice-President European Movement International), Niola Countouris (ETUI), Jana Hainsworth (Secretary General Europechild), and Tea Jarc (President of ETUC youth committee).
