15 September was an open day in which several other social economy organisations took part, among which the Rhones-Alpes region Union of worker cooperatives.
The partners discussed the ongoing development of an electronic resource centre among themselves.
They agreed that the focus of their common contents was “enterprises of the social economy”: for this reason, Bruno Roelants was asked to explain the concept and practice of social economy at European level, their common denominators and differences from country to country. They discussed at length on what UCE should become after the end of the project.
There was a consensus that UCE should become a permanent institution, but the type of structure, its components, its mission and main activities are still under discussion.
