CECOP participates in the conference 'Social Enterprises and the Europe 2020 Strategy” at the EESC

Bruno Roelants, Secretary General of CECOP participated in the conference 'Social Enterprises and the Europe 2020 Strategy: innovative solutions for a sustainable Europe' organized by the European Economic and Social Committee reporting about social cooperatives in Europe including some examples from Portugal, Sweden, Finland and Italy. Extracts from the documentary “Together”, recently launched by CECOP, were also projected in front of the audience.
The conference brought together approximately 220 participants, including representatives from the European Commission such as the commissioner Laszlo Andor, wider civil society representatives, academic experts and guest speakers.
The cooperative movement had a broad representation in the conference with the participation, among others, the president of the International Cooperative Alliance, Pauline Green, the Co-Chair of Co-operatives Europe, Felice Scalvini and the Secretary General of CECOP, Bruno Roelants.
